got its Day of the Dead on
at the Marigold Parade 
in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Exuberant and Unique Revelry
Celebrating the Dead
by those who 
"have been
“born here all my life"”
as they say in Burque

 Calavera attire...
living evocations of the prints of
José Guadalupe Posada
satirizing the finery 
of the wealthy upper classes

La Calavera Catrina is considered to be 

the personification 
of The Day of the Dead.

in mid June
The FC
waved
ciao to Italy
and bonjour to France

Montmirail felt like home
as the Carpet
rippled
over the welcoming countryside
and
landed 

at Maison Conti

hushed streets at dawn

gazed
at the sunrise reflecting windows

a garden shining in dew

returned
past the church...
its tintinnabulation silenced
until the town wakes at 7:00

presented

made
a pilgrimage
to Chartres

beheld
its spires bristling with gee gaws 

and gargoyles

shimmered
in luminescence

and then...
marvelled
